„Beatriz Baptista - a spectacular Adalgisa. I don't remember of such glorious revelation on the last times“
- Lauro Gomes, Brasilian Opera Critic
Beatriz Baptista was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and started her career at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. It didn't take long for her to make her first stage experiences, not only at the university but also in the Municipal Theater, where she had the honor to work for three years.
During her studies in Brazil, she won the DAAD Scholarship and a place at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, where she went to study Opera Performance.
„...possesses a clear and resonant soprano voice, with an impressive high register and great vocal technique, wich she employs with ease“
- Ioan Hollender
From her beginning until now she was already seen in many important roles like Marcelina (Le Nozze di Figaro), Ramiro (La Finta Giardiniera), Dorabella (Cosi fan Tutte), Serse (Serse), and her wonderful debut as Adalgisa (Norma).
Furthermore, she was a finalist in several competitions and won prizes in many of them, including the International Music Competition Cologne and the Gut Immling International Singing Competition.
